Hiking, walking, kilometres and kilometres of ski slopes. It is not by chance that Corvara is called the “Pearl of the Dolomites”. As a mountain village located 1,568 metres above sea level, it is perfect for all types of travellers. Located in a sunny basin at the foot of Monte Sassongher and thanks to its privileged position on the Sellaronda (the circuits around the Sella massif), it is ideal for skiers and lovers of road or mountain bikes.

Ski lifts set out from the centre of the village and from about 200 metres from our location, allowing you to easily reach altitudes beyond 2,000 metres, with breath-taking views and well-marked trails for climbers and hikers of varying degrees of skill to feel on top of the world!

But Corvara is not a paradise only for those seeking an active holiday – the entire Alta Badia has become the tourist destination for gastronomy! In other words, the right place for a stay of pure pleasure dedicated to relaxation, culture and entertainment: the centre of Corvara that closes to traffic in the evenings and comes alive with concerts, markets, events in the main piazza, along with many happenings for young and old alike! Luxury restaurants, pâtisseries, nightlife, trendy shops – there’s something for everyone!

After a day of skiing and a bevy of adventures amidst nature, what could be better than indulging in a few hours of relaxation in our wellness centre? There you will find 2 saunas, a Kneipp programme, a large Turkish bath, and a spacious multi-person hot tub with thousands of bubbles.

Things to do in Corvara during winter

This city is the cradle of winter tourism thanks to Corvara being home to Italy’s first lift, the Col Alto sledge lift, built in 1938, as well being where the first chairlift in Italy was built, also in Col Alto in 1946.

Ski

We are only 200 metres from the Boé gondola lift, an ideal starting point for the Sellaronda (to travel around the Sella Massif) in both directions – the endless slopes of the Dolomiti Superski await you with 12 ski areas and some 1,200 kilometres of slopes, 500 of which can be accessed directly from Corvara!

For those wanting a ski mountaineering and freeride experience, we suggest contacting the Alta Badia mountain guides, who can take you to places where no ski lifts can reach: www.altabadiaguides.com.

Here at Ciasa de Munt Lifestyle B&B, we have set up a spacious storage room for you, with heated boot cabinets so you will always find your ski equipment perfectly dry the following morning.

Practical advice

Take the first gondola lift in the morning, then the Vallon chairlift that leads to around 2,700 metres to offer a breath-taking view of the Sella-Marmolada-Lagazuoi and the Monte Croce before spying the Austrian Alps. Travel down the black run of the Vallon to indulge in a gourmet break or to savour a good coffee at our Piz Boè Alpin Lounge. Did you know that together, the Vallon and Boè represent one of the longest runs in Alta Badia?
